Select County BRDHD Health Environmentalists inspect food service establishments twice each year, plus follow-up inspections and response to complaints from the public as needed. Of their 44-item checklist, 13 of the items are designated “critical violations”. These items cover major food safety issues, such as assuring proper hand washing and maintaining proper temperatures for foods. These violations must be corrected within 10 days. Restaurants scoring below 85 with only "non-critical violations" have 30 days to take corrective action. The health department may close a restaurant if:
The restaurant can be reopened as soon as the problem is fixed. However, if the restaurant wants a conference, one will be held within 7 days. The establishments flagged in bold green font indicate they reported that 100% of their seats were dedicated as non-smoking and that smoking was not allowed anywhere inside their facility.
